In the summer of 2017, iBoy was born as a representative of the new generation of AD, and within three months he won the LPL championship and went on to the stage of the world championship. Over the past two years, young and astringent teenagers have grown into the mainstay of the team, and iBoy, a third-year student, has become more mature, with more responsibility on his shoulders.
“Stress” is the most frequently mentioned word in iBoy’s interview. No wonder, after the alliance of the LPL group, the boundaries between the strong and weak teams become blurred, and EDG has no previous dominance. For them, this year’s trip to the PLL is particularly difficult and the future is even more uncertain. Pressure surges in like a tide, and iBoy is still the boy who yearns for victory and championship.
Q: Today is a key game. How does it feel to win 2:1?
IBoy: Just win, keep the playoffs alive, and then hopefully win all the way to fourth place.
Q: It’s crucial for you to play at the end of the season. What’s the atmosphere and condition of the team in the recent period?
IBoy: It’s not clear yet. It’s not until the playoffs that we know that the most important thing is to maintain a good atmosphere and condition in the playoffs.
Q: What about yourself? How do you feel about your recent state?
IBoy: I’m much better, much better than before, and I feel good about myself.
Q: What did you say “before” not do well enough?
IBoy: Personally, I’m not in a good mood and I haven’t slept well. I’ve adjusted it recently.
Q: How many hours do you usually sleep now?
IBoy: I went to bed at 5 a.m. a few months ago. In a short time, it was four or five hours. Recently, it’s a little early, and about 12 o’clock I’m ready to take a rest.
Q: At the beginning of the spring race, you said you had formed a good habit of going to bed early and getting up early. Why didn’t you stick to it?
IBoy: Because the sleeping environment is different, people around me go to bed very late, either play cell phone to that point, or just go to that point, so I am affected (laughter). I used to hate people going to bed at night, because they would wake up, so I waited for them to sleep before I went to bed. Now I can’t help it. I still need to rest earlier.
Q: Are there any new habits to cultivate now?
IBoy: Stick to being unaffected by them (laughter).
Q: Last month you just celebrated your nineteenth birthday and your fourth birthday in EDG. What’s the difference between this birthday and the previous one?
IBoy: Every time I had a birthday party before, I offered not to do it this year, because I think it’s troublesome for fans, so I want to make it as simple as possible to spend it in the team.
Q: Do you have any wishes?
IBoy: When I went out for a walk at one or two o’clock the other day, I saw a meteor and made a wish that I would be healthy and not be under too much pressure every day.
Q: Is it because you were under a lot of pressure before?
IBoy: A little bit.
Q: Does the age of 19 mean anything special to you?
IBoy: I’m under pressure that I shouldn’t have at this age (laughter).
Q: What are the pressures?
IBoy: I’m tired, I’m sleepy, and I have to work.
Q: What do you think you should be doing at 19 If you don’t have a job?
IBoy: Either online love or learning. Because before I started my career, I was curious about learning. I studied very hard every day and had a good time during the holidays.
Q: Why do you think you will fall in love online?
IBoy: Maybe, maybe I already have a girlfriend. I haven’t experienced it yet. I can’t fall in love on the Internet when I come to EDG, so I have to take a good job.
Q: What do you want to do after you don’t work?
IBoy: I’m sure the pressure will be lower after I finish my career. I don’t know what I’m doing, but I should be happy.
Q: It also means that you have spent two years in LPL after your 19th birthday. What changes and growth do you think you have in these two years?
IBoy: Nothing has changed. Maybe it’s psychologically mature, but I won’t tell you.
Q: When EDG won the Summer Seventeen, you were interviewed by the host and said, “There is no fluctuation in my heart.” Are there any moments in these two years when you have “fluctuation in your heart”?
IBoy: I fluctuated when I won the championship again. At that time, I felt it was so easy to win the championship. There must be no fluctuation.
Q: When you are interviewed, you often say “gossip”. Do you think about it in advance or suddenly?
IBoy: I’m sure I didn’t think about it beforehand. Pure people like me think so much about what they do. They talk normally.
Q: There are several new teammates in your team this season, and they have been playing together for several months. Do you feel they are in the best condition with the team now?
IBoy: I’m not sure what the best form is, but I think it’s okay for them to come in as new players and play at the top level, with a full score of about 67.
Q: Evaluating two new teammates?
IBoy: The main thing is that we play in the field. The position of playing in the field is too important. Jiejie came here as a new player in the summer competition. It’s only half a season. It’s hard to give full play to our strength, so we haven’t reached the best state yet.
Q: You were in good shape at the beginning of the summer game, but there were some ups and downs. What do you think of the team’s unstable state?
IBoy: It’s still a little bit worse overall. It’s hard to win when you meet a strong team. I hope we can adjust it in the playoffs and we can do it.
Q: What aspects need to be adjusted?
IBoy: At least don’t be upset when you meet a strong team. You can see it when you are upset with your opponent, so that 80% of the team loses, unless the opponent is very good.
Q: There are still two games left in the regular season, TES and SN, which are relatively strong teams. The coach just expected to win all the games. Do you have confidence?
IBoy: I’m confident because I won SN and TOP in spring and also in summer because I feel like we’re Countering them.
Q: What about team performance? What are the goals?
IBoy: We want to enter the world championship. It’s definitely the best way to win the championship. At least we need to get into the bubbles.
Q: What expectations do you have for your future personal life?
IBoy: I hope I don’t want to think too much and think less. Because I think a lot for some time, I feel very tired. For example, in life, when people say something, they get a little annoyed, and when they sleep. It’s the chain effect that leads to more thinking about everything. This actually affects my game, although not particularly, but with this mood to play the game can not play the best state.
Q: Will that be the case before? When did this change begin?
IBoy: Never before. I don’t know how it turned out. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but I don’t really want it. I feel tired.
Q: Do you usually go to see comments about you on social networking platforms?
IBoy: I haven’t seen it for two or three months. I saw it the day before.
Q: Would it affect you to see some bad comments about you before?
IBoy: Anyway, it didn’t affect me before. Recently, a little bit, so I deleted those applications. Actually, the main reason is that I’m too tired to play with my mobile phone every day, just like being poisoned, so I deleted most of the Apps and just sent a message and a video software.
Q: What do you usually watch with video software?
IBoy: I watch half an hour a day, either animation or movies. I seldom watch variety shows. At the end of the spring season, I finished watching all the Dragon Balls, about 500 episodes, and also the famous detective Conan. But after watching hundreds of episodes, I didn’t see them. It was very boring, because the plot was not advanced. _
